Plein Air:  Painting Compelling Compositions with Chris Behrs 
Thursday & Friday, August 13 & 14:  9:30 am-3:30 pm
Choose either day or both!
Plein air painting is more than simply painting outdoors. It involves every part of you and makes your senses come alive. Participants will learn to capture a moment in time visually and emotionally. Students may paint in oils, acrylics, pastel or watercolor. Each day, Chris will discuss basic practices and considerations unique to painting outdoors, including how to choose a compelling composition. Next, he will demonstrate his plein air approach and process in pastel. After a lunchbreak, participants will have 3+ hours to paint architecture on Thursday and landscape on Friday in historic downtown Cedarburg as Chris provides individual guidance and support. Bring a bag lunch. Per Chris “Weather is always tricky, even in the summer. Dress for the weather and unless it is a downpour, we will paint.” A supply list will be emailed to participants based on their medium.
