Layering the Landscape in Pastel with Beki Borman
Saturday, November 19: 9 am-3 pm
In this one day workshop, students will learn pastel drawing while focusing on landscape as a subject matter. Materials, tools, and techniques will be covered. Students will learn how to layer and blend pastels to achieve gradation, depth, and atmosphere. We will start with a few exercises to develop concepts and then we will move on to completed drawings. This class is open to all levels of experience. Students should bring sketchbook or note paper, a pencil set, blending stumps (at least 3 assorted sizes) and possible landscape photographs to work from. Most supplies are included but students may bring their own chalk pastels and toned paper.
