Free to be You! Movement-Inspired Creativity with Kate Mann

Tuesdays, January 10, 17, 24, 31:  5:30-7 pm

Discover a physical way to free your visual and verbal creativity! In each class a new theme will stimulate imagery for moving, drawing and writing.  Gentle and rhythmic music will awaken the group energy with natural movements that loosen up and soften tension.  In this safe creative environment you can explore your own body’s flow of motion that leads into making a spontaneous free-form drawing.  And then we ask ourselves,  “If my drawing could speak, what would it say?”, and we invite the words to emerge onto paper. This expressive arts process is a wonderful insightful way to witness what’s going on within your body, mind and  imagination.  You will discover more of who you are!

The movement part of class incorporates creative dance and NIA freedance.  Neuromuscular Integrative Action, NIA, is a guided music & movement experience to become present in your body, playfully and joyful discover “your own body’s way” of moving to different music, imagery and feelings.  All are welcome here; no prior experience necessary; all supplies are included.

Kate Mann, is a dance educator, teaching artist and trusted guide in expressive arts experiences for people of all ages and abilities.
