Watercolor Painting with Alice Struck

Saturdays, September 13, 27, October 4, 25, November 1, 8:  9-11:30 am

Watercolor is the ideal medium for expressing your individual style. In this 6 part series, students watch a demonstration of a different subject in each class, using specific watercolor approaches such as underpainting, wet on wet, damp or dry surfaces, creating depth, using resists to preserve the sparkle of the paper and incorporating texture, iridescent and metallic mediums. Each subject is introduced with an explanation of the setup, preparation of the paper or sketching outlines to create the clean, one stroke richness that characterizes watercolors. Subjects chosen will be drawn from travel, nature or close objects and may be from your own experiences. We will continue the popular format of gathering for group artwork observation, followed by instructor demonstration and handouts with which to try out the demonstrated techniques. Questions, art supply review or individual appointments before the class series can be arranged by contacting 414-719-5754 or aastruck@att.net.
