Mixed Media Collage & Frida Experience! with Karla Byl

Join mixed media artist and educator, Karla Byl, for a fun creative art day and Get Your FRIDA On!! Karla will share her knowledge and passion for Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, displaying many items from her Frida collection for everyone's pleasure and inspiration. In this colorful exciting atmosphere, students will create an 11"x14" mixed media abstract collage portrait of Frida, using assorted cut and torn papers, Frida’s quotes, paint and a variety of found objects. As students learn about Frida, they will explore ways to bring Frida's unique look and style to life. And…we will be treating you to a Frida-inspired lunch of homemade tacos, chips, salsa and more to enhance and nourish this artful day of celebrating renowned artist Frida Kahlo! All materials and lunch are provided in this experiential day; there is a separate $15 supply fee due to the instructor at the beginning of class. Students may feel free to bring any findings they would like to use in their artwork.
