Needle Felting Equine in Relief with Justine Heinrichs
Saturday, January 24: 1-5 pm
Join us in this fun exploration of fiber art! Learn the highly meditative art of needle felting as you create an equine portrait of your horse (or a beloved horse) using a combination of short and long fiber wool. Participants will learn how to use barbed felting needles to achieve different effects and hand blend colors to create values and specific colors. We will start with basic shapes of wool to create a “cookie cutter” horse cameo. Justine will teach techniques that when applied, create form, allow participants to personalize their horse and achieve amazingly realistic results. Justine provides demonstrations and individualized attention throughout the workshop to ensure a successful ‘painting’. Participants should bring a side view photo of a horse. No prior felting experience is needed. Additional $15 materials fee is due to the instructor at time of class.
