Needle Felting Equine in Relief with Justine Heinrichs

Join us in this fun exploration of fiber art and learn the highly meditative art of needle felting! Create an equine portrait of your horse (or a favorite horse) using a combination of short and long fiber wool. Participants will learn how to use barbed felting needles to achieve different effects and how to blend colors to create values and specific colors. We will start with basic shapes of wool to create a “cookie cutter” horse cameo. Justine will teach techniques that when applied, create form, allow participants to personalize their horse and achieve amazingly realistic results. Justine provides demonstrations and individualized attention throughout the workshop to ensure a successful painting. Participants should bring a side view photo of a horse. No prior felting experience is needed. Additional materials fee of $15 is due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
