Introduction to Paper Marbling with Joyce Gitter 
Saturday, March 16:  12:30-5 pm 
Learn the technique of marbling on paper to produce beautiful old world patterns or your own freestyle designs. We will use acrylic paints floated on a carrageenan bath, then manipulate the paints with various tools to produce designs. Paper will be laid on the bath, resulting in a one-of-a-kind print. You will have time to practice the techniques learned and to do your own experimentation. You will leave with several pieces of marbled beauty for your artistic endeavors. Participants should bring an old hand towel, roll of paper towel and apron to protect clothing. There is an additional fee of $45 payable to the instructor on the day of class to cover her cost of paints, carrageenan, alum, gall, papers, use of tools, an instruction booklet and resource list.
