Wine, Song & Dance: Beginning Traditional Dance for Adults with Mary Clark 

Tuesdays, February 11, 18, 25:   6-7:30 pm 

Come dance with us! Dancing and lively music are known to bring us joy. We will have fun connecting with others while experiencing and learning steps and styles of dance. Mary will teach us traditional dances selected from Western Europe in addition to the t’Smidge,Sasha from Russsia, Pata Pata from South Africa, Los Machetes from Mexico and a dance from Australia. Come learn in a light, carefree atmosphere. Mary will share a bit about the cultural and historical background of the dances. No experience or dance partner are necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and your favorite comfortable shoes. First beverage is included in the class fee.

This class is offered at a greatly reduced rate, made possible by a generous donation from Claudette Lee- Roseland’s family on her behalf. We welcome new students or students who are resuming their art journey to register and try out a new medium.

 

MARY LEA CLARK worked as a music specialist in the Mequon-Thiensville School District for nearly 20 years. Prior, she taught elementary and secondary music in the greater Milwaukee area. Mary received her undergraduate degree in Music Education with piano emphasis from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and master’s degree in education from Mount Mary College. She was awarded the Beatrice M. Haggerty Scholarship for three consecutive semesters and was granted the Gunild Keetman Assistance Fund Scholarship and completed her Orff-Schulwerk Level III teacher training at Mills College in San Francisco. In 2004 she was awarded the Elementary Outstanding Educator award in the Mequon-Thiensville School District. Additionally, she freelanced as a musician playing keyboards, singing and serving as a musical director for a variety of performing venues. She performed at Stackner Cabaret, the Marcus Center of the Performing Arts and at Summerfest.
