Painting Original Watercolors will follow the popular Critique, Demo and Work format. I will introduce a variety of subjects in this series, including urban landscapes, natural landscapes, interiors, figures and faces and close ups as well as depth and distance composition. We will revisit old themes and explore new territory, with emphasis on how you can evolve your paintings into individual, original artworks. The supply list is available online.

Recommended Supply List
Watercolor paint in tubes are preferred.
*Alizarin Crimson or Permanent Rose
*Scarlet Lake or Opera Rose
*Winsor Yellow, Transparent Yellow New Gamboge, Aurolean, Raw Sienna, Transparent Yellow (one or two choices)
*Winsor Blue (Green Shade)
*Sap Green or Hooker’s Green or Winsor Green
* Cobalt Violet or Diaxazine Purple
Paper: A good grade of watercolor paper, 140 lb or greater, either rough, cold press or hot pressed, at least 11” x 14”
Brushes: Round #8 or # 12 Flat 1”, 1 1/2” or 2” Rigger, optional (this is a log haired thin brush)
Support: Plexiglas, glass, drawing board or dry erase board
Palette, covered, Large enough to mix colors on
waterproof pen (like Micron)
pencils (B softness, like 2, 4 or 6 B)
Kneaded or plastic erasers
*All of these items are not needed in the first class. You can add along the way. Come prepared to paint with paper, 6 to 8 basic colors, a palette and support.
