Open Waters: Explore the Complexities of Water with Chris Behrs

Saturday, March 14: 9 am-4 pm (includes one-hour lunch break)

Whether in the studio or “en plein air,” water can be an essential part of many compositions. However, water has many characteristics; reflective, transparent, translucent, rippling, flowing, calming…and several may be present in a single painting. Water has been integral in much of my work and I have studied the varied and unique ways that water can be presented as a visually stimulating part of any composition. This workshop will help guide you through the process of creating believable water in your paintings as we touch on these many visual qualities of water. Come explore the complexities of water with award-winning pastel artist and certified instructor, Chris Behrs. Pastel, oil, and acrylic painters are welcome. Chris will demo in pastel; however, this method of painting translates well to oil and acrylic painting. The supply list is available online.
