Kokedama Living Art Workshop with Brenda Greuel
Saturday, April 22: 10:30 am-1 pm
Kokedama (Japanese = "Koke/moss - dama/ball") is a style of potting up plants in a ball of moss and displaying them on a dish or suspended in the air. The style comes from a centuries-old Bonsai tradition. In this workshop, we'll learn how to prepare proper soil, individual plant care, how to pack the plant's root ball and then bind within a ball of moss creating a living, architectural art piece, which you'll take home. What a perfect way to celebrate Earth Day! Class fee includes plant, soil/clay, sheet moss, sphagnum moss and twine needed to make one moss ball to be hung or used on a standing display. Decorative display plates/stands will be available to purchase separately, if desired.
