Beginning Charcoals with Chris Behrs
Saturday, Mar 18: 9:30 am-12:30 pm
In this drawing class for beginners, participants will be introduced to the unique qualities of charcoal as a drawing medium. Charcoal is a versatile medium and can be used to create bold, dramatic effects as well as soft and subtle variations in value. For this reason, it is an appropriate medium for most any subject including portraits, pets, still lifes and landscapes; especially landscapes with soft atmospheric conditions such as clouds and fog. Students should bring a photo reference in black and white, preferably a closeup, portrait or pet. All supplies are included in the class fee. This class is offered at a greatly reduced rate because of a generous donation from Claudette Lee-Roseland, who wanted to inspire all adults to create art. (Intended for novices only).

Claudette Lee-Roseland Endowed Classes. These classes are offered at a greatly reduced rate to encourage adults to take the leap and begin experimenting in the arts. We welcome new students or students who are resuming their art journey to register and try out a new medium they have been on the fence about and have always wanted to try. This reduced rate is made possible by a generous donation from Claudette Lee- Roseland’s family on her behalf.
