Beginning Charcoals with Chris Behrs
Saturday, April 5: 9 am-3:30 pm
In this drawing class for beginners, participants will be introduced to the unique qualities of charcoal as a drawing medium. Charcoal is a versatile medium and can be used to create bold, dramatic effects as well as soft and subtle variations in value. For this reason, it is an appropriate medium for most any subject including portraits, pets, still lifes and landscapes; especially landscapes with soft atmospheric conditions such as clouds and fog. Students should bring a photo reference in black and white, preferably a closeup, portrait or pet. All supplies are included in the class fee.
