Pysanky Painting and Cocktails with Kathleen Johns
Tuesday, April 15: 6-9 pm
Learn the Ukrainian ethnic tradition of Pysanky egg painting while relaxing with a beverage of your choice. Decorate 2 or 3 Pysanky (pronounced pi-san-kee) eggs, using an ancient wax-resistance method. Hear a bit about the history of this folk art and experience it for yourself! Your first beverage is included; all supplies are provided. An additional $20 supply and tool fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. Kathleen is a renowned artist in this 2000 year old art form and has created hundreds of designed eggs for art galleries and collectors across the country. This class is offered at a greatly reduced rate, made possible by a generous donation from Claudette Lee-Roseland’s family on her behalf. We welcome new students or students who are resuming their art journey to register and try out a new medium.
