The Cedarburg Cultural Center is pleased to be the repository of thousands of historic photographs of Cedarburg and surrounding communities. Over the past 150 years, several individuals have photographed Cedarburg and environs, but three key local historians contributed the majority of the photos in our collection today.
Ed Rappold, who was a photographer in his own right, amassed more than 2,000 photos ranging from the 1850's through the 1930's. Among his collection are some of the works of "Doc" Wiesler, one of Cedarburg's first "official" photographers.
The following two decades were immortalized in images by Harold Dobberpuhl, local photographer, historian and Ozaukee County clerk. His contributions show a small rural town growing into its own from 1946-1964.
Most recently, Doctor Stephen Reyer took to the streets of Cedarburg and captured the entire year of 2003 in photos. From festivals to fairs, winter into summer, Steve donated a collection of more than 2,000 images of historic Cedarburg in a new millenium.
