COMMUNITY HISTORIC MOSAIC MURAL PROJECTS

Roll up your sleeves! We are proud to invite you to attend one or more free workshops in building and glazing ceramic tiles at the CCC. This is an opportunity to invite a grandchild, friend or other loved one to create art alongside you. Of course, you may come solo as well!

The workshops are part of an exciting Community Historic Mosaic Mural Project, and pieces created will be used in creating two exciting works of public art to be enjoyed by all!

The first of the two mosaic murals will be on display at the CCC and focus on the history, architecture and landscape of historic Cedarburg.

The second will make its permanent home in the entrance area of the Ozaukee County Administration Center, attached to the historic courthouse in Port Washington. The mosaic will focus on the natural beauty, culture and history of Ozaukee County.

Both murals will be comprised of hand-built ceramic tiles, colored glass and found objects, and scheduled for installation in June of 2012. The project is being led by local mosaic artist Kerry Tharp.
