Just a quick reminder that one of our biggest fundraisers of the year is coming up this weekend, August 1 & 2. Formerly known as the Stone and Century House Tour, this year’s tour features six seven interesting properties ( free admission to the Kuhefuss House Museum) in a compact walking tour of downtown Cedarburg.

The structures on the tour date back as far as 1850, but also include some buildings completely remodeled with sustainable materials and utilizing “green” technology. There is something for everyone on this year’s tour.

Tickets are still only $12 in advance / $15 day-of-the-tour (that’s less than $1.72 per stop if you buy them before Saturday).

Why not just park your car at the Center and make a day of it in historic downtown Cedarburg. Enjoy the homes at your leisure on Saturday, August 1 from 9 am-5 pm and/or Sunday, August 2 from noon -4 pm.

Here’s my suggested itinerary…

  1. Take a tour or two
  2. Shop on your way to lunch at any one of Cedarburg’s great outdoor restaurants
  3. Walk off your lunch and stop at some shops on the way to the next tours
  4. Enjoy local gardens and other historic buildings along your way
  5. Shop and grab a sweet treat at one of Cedarburg’s candy shops or bakeries
  6. Walk off your treat on the way to the next tours
  7. Shop on your way to get a cool drink at a local pub or outdoor bistro
  8. Still walking off your treat from earlier, enjoy the Kuhefuss House Museum just 2 blocks from the Center where your car is located.

So there you have it! A great way to spend a summer day in downtown Cedarburg. And if that isn’t enough to make you want to take the tour, here is some information on the great tour stops the committee has lined up for this year.
