Batik is often thought of as a classic wax resist Indonesian textile but in this class with there is a twist. Carole Robb replaces the cloth with rice paper and the dyes with watercolor washes. Students will layer the wax and color washes on the rice paper creating a delicate transparent look with rich textural interest. The class is approximately 3.5 hours and you will go home with a finished batik. |
